AIDA opens world's first LEGO® stand-alone store on board a cruise ship

AIDA Cruises is cooperating with the popular Danish toy manufacturer to offer the world's first exclusive LEGO® shopping and experience area on a cruise ship.

Today, September 25, 2021, the LEGO stand-alone store on board AIDAprima was officially opened by Annette Rosendahl, Sales Director at the LEGO Group, Travel Retail Europe and Steffi Heinicke, Senior Vice President Guest Experience AIDA Cruises. On 75m², not only young but also grown-up fans of the colorful bricks can now get excited and inspired: From the classic LEGO themes like LEGO DUPLO® and LEGO City to novelties like the LEGO Volkswagen T2Camper Van to the 6,000-brick LEGO Harry Potter TM Hogwarts TM Castle, every childhood dream will be fulfilled. The official LEGO mascot, a two-meter-tall sailor, will support the well-known AIDA Clubbies on board in the future.

"With this cooperation, we are once again underlining our family friendliness and our commitment to the needs of our guests with a range of timeless products for all generations”, says Heinicke, who is pleased "that with the LEGO store we are adding an additional highlight to our world of experiences and shopping for young and old guests along with bringing another quality brand on board with the LEGO Group."

With its diverse product range, the long-established Danish company is one of the largest toy manufacturers in the world. The LEGO Group has already been named "Toy of the Century" twice.

We are excited to open our first LEGO store on a cruise ship, on the AIDAprima. The LEGO store offers an immersive brand experience, allowing for kids and adults to engage with our brand and we are looking forward to bringing this experience to the AIDA guests”, comments Rosendahl.

Until October 23, 2021, AIDAprima will depart from Kiel every Saturday on seven-day Baltic Sea voyages to Copenhagen, Visby on the island of Gotland, and Stockholm. From October 30, 2021, to April 2022, AIDAprima will be sailing from Hamburg to call at various metropolises in Western Europe.

All cruises are operated in accordance with AIDA Cruises' comprehensive health and safety protocols and national and local infection control laws and regulations. More information is available at www.aida.de/urlaubskompass.
